Grillz, fronts, golds, whatever you call them, you can't help but stare when you see them. Originating in the South, grillz have taken the music industry by storm with artists from Katy Perry to Kanye West sporting the mouthpieces at award shows, celebrity outings, and more. They're a staple fashion piece for anyone who's anyone in the industry. As a Houston native, I love seeing celebrity grillz and making my own judgements. With that being said, I present to you: The Best Grillz In The Music Industry (In My Opinion).
Paul Wall
Paull Wall is one of the OGs in the grillz game. The Houston rapper has a custom grill done by the legend Johnny Dang with blue and white diamonds. Paul Wall later ventured into the cutom jewelry world, partnering with Johnny Dang to open Johnny Dang & Co. in Houston. Respect to Paul Wall, Baby!

A$AP Rocky
A$AP Rocky recently had a grill designed by Tetsuya Akiyama and unveiled the elaborate design at the 2020 Yam$ Day Celebration. The grill is made with yellow and pink diamonds and features 2 enamel sections with actual flower molded inside. I've never seen anything like it, so of course, I'm obsessed.

Quavo
Quavo is the ultimate trendsetter in the rap game. He showed off a custom grill made of baugettes, an uncommon form of diamond seen in grillz. Baguettes are a bit difficult to work with in teeth jewelry due to the high risk of tooth damage, but Quavo is leading the pack in the baguette trend.

Smino
Besides his St. Louis pride and unique rap cadence, Smino is also known to rock th trendiest wardrobe amongst rappers today. However, he set himself apart from others with this classic gold open face grill. Sometimes, it's not about how flashy the jewelry is, but about how the wearer rocks the jewelry. Smino rocks it well!

Beyonce
The Houston Queen B has shown off several grillz in the past, but more recently, she brought the jewelry back to roll out the launch off her new IVY PARK collaboaration with Adidas. The grill literally spells IVY PARK in all gold. What a way to promote your brand. Props to the Queen!

Rihanna
Trendsetter isn't a big enough word to describe Rihanna's impact on fashion and music. The Good Girl Gone Bad sported a grill in the shape of a gun on her Instagram, putting the Bad Gal Riri twist on the jewelry that we all know and love. The grill is almost good enough for me to forgive her for not releasing an album.

Nelly
He literally has a song called "Grillz," so this choice felt appropriate. Nelly is another OG in the grillz game and had a variety of grillz to choose from. I ultimately went with the most unique set which is a white gold set of just two fangs. Simple while making a huge statement.

Steve Lacy
The Internet bassist Steve Lacy has a pretty unique collection of grillz, but his newest addition, an open face white diamond grill, takes the cake for me. Designed by Tetsuya Akiyama, the mouthpiece brings a classic and subtle flex to the musician's unique look.

Pharrell
Iconic Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams doesn't follow fashion trends. He stepped out with a grill set with rainbow colored enamel and white gold lining. Talk about expensive! The rainbow colors contribute to Pharrell's known reputation for thinking outside of the box and adds a bit of variety to the hundreds of grillz in the industry.
